WRAPPED IDENTITY 

Wrapped Identity is a project in which I explored the DNA of the luxury brand Balenciaga and the outdoor brand The North Face. From both brands the key points of the brand were taken and clashed together into a new design. The use of wool and blazer references are part of the Balenciaga DNA. Some key points of The North Face are functionality and the focus on protective outerwear. Under Demna Gvasalia, Balenciaga plays with designs of the older collections and shows a playful new twist to them. Taking this to a personal handwriting, pockets are placed on unexpected parts of the design, sometimes functional and other times not. This takes away the functional aspect of the garments, which plays with the previous mentioned functional aspect of The North Face. The same happens in the trousers, where the zippers on the middle of the leg are both functional and a design choice.
