This project started with the question of how volume can be created without using classical pattern cutting. Playing with the technique of Usha Doshi, by cutting geometrical shapes into the fabric and stitching the holes, the fabric moves in an unusual way. I used light and stiff material to create more volume with the technique, trying to keep the design simple. The colors used in the designs together with the embroideries are inspired by pop-art and neo-surrealism.
